Jim was a good friend to me. He is the guy that showed me APRS in 1994 and
got me so interested in APRS. I just saw him 2 weeks ago at the IRA Hamfest
in Grand Rapids after his heart surgery. Please pass this on 73 Tom DEC 6
I am sorry to have to make an annoucement like this to but Jim Spicer
KB8OGT
passed away this afternoon. For those of you who knew Jim there is not
much more to tell. For those of you who did not know Jim, he has been a
big figure in the Amatuer radio community for many years. Jim has always
been around to check into nets, provide radios for events, a place to do
your first net from and always a good conversation. Jim has been a member
of Kent county ARES/RACES for many years also and always came out to help
with what he could. Jim will definetly be missed. Currently I do not
have
much info about funeral information, I will pass it on as soon I can.
Please pass this info on.
