The following events are scheduled in the Grand Rapids area for August
2003 and beyond. Anyone interested are welcome at these events.

The next meeting of the Grand Rapids Amateur Radio Association (GRARA)is
Friday, Aug 1, 7PM, at the American Red Cross building, 1050 Fuller Ave
NE between the Ford I-196 expressway and Leonard ST. Talk-in

NEWSLETTER DUE DATE for the upcoming COMBINED GRARA, MARA, and LARC
newletter, GRAHamfest promotion is the August 1 GRARA meeting. This
newsletter goes to nearly 1400 recipients. If you have an article for
submission, sent it to mailto:[email protected]?subject=Newsletter
Also a stack of GRAHamfest fliers need to be delivered to area stores. A
stack of fliers, envelopes, and store labels will be at this meeting for
those willing to help promote GRAHamfest

The W8DC ham shack at the Red Cross building is open for use Wednesdays
7:15PM to about 9 or after. Be sure to have a copy of your license if you

DAPR, the Downtown Amateur Packet Radio Group of Grand Rapids, meets for
breakfast the Saturday after the first Friday of each month, August 2, at
8AM. New Beginnings Restaurant, 1455 Michigan St NE. Use the Fuller exit
(turn south) off of  I-196 then go east on Michigan.  "Talk-in" is on
146.760/R.  Anyone 
interested in digital modes is invited to attend. Contact

Introduction To Disaster Telecommunications course to be held in Big
Rapids on Saturday, August 2nd at the Masonic Lodge Hall, just north of
Big Rapids on 19-mile road. Talk-in on 146.74 Big Rapids 2-meter
repeater. In addition, everyone's  invited to the Big Rapids monthly club
breakfast prior at 7:30 a.m. at the Big Boy restaurant on State Street in
Big Rapids.
Ed: Advance registration is highly recommended, unfortunatly that
information was not included.

7PM, at the WODJ-FM Citidel Broadcasting transmitter site. About 6 miles

non-reserve 5 ft round table $5. Outside "trunk sales" spaces no
additional charge, ticket req. Friday overnight parking permitted, no
