Subject: [w8lrc] WT8S-Candidate for ARRL Great Lakes Division Director
September 8, 2002
Dear Fellow Ham,
I am a candidate for the position of the American Radio Relay League (
ARRL)
Great Lakes Division Director. The ballots will be mailed out the last
week
of September, with the voting period from October 1st to November 15th. I
urge all the members of your club that are ARRL members to vote in this
important election and to read the ballot statements of each of the 3
candidates carefully. Perhaps you can make an announcement at your next
club
meeting about the forthcoming vote.
I am a retired electrical engineer with more than 25 years testifying
experience on engineering, communications and business matters before
Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan and federal regulatory and legislative bodies. I
believe that my testifying experience could help the ARRL in the coming
years
in support of the Amateur Radio Spectrum Protection Act and the fight to see
that PRB-1 protection of the right to have antennas is fully applied to
municipalities and private subdivision covenants.
I was first licensed in 1957 as KN2LCM, then K2LCM in 1958 and became WT8S
in
1989, six years after being transferred to Ohio. I live in Canal
Winchester,
Ohio, near Columbus which is centrally located in the Great Lakes Division.
I have been a Volunteer Examiner since 1989 and a letter manager for the 8th
Area QSL Bureau for the past 5 years. While DX and going on Dxpedtions are
my main interest in our wonderful hobby, I have experience in RACES and as a
traffic net member and net control.
I ask for your member?Ts consideration in the coming election. If you have
any questions or want more information, please contact me at
[email protected] or see QRZ.com or

Sincerely, Paul W. Daley WT8S
