MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY IS HERE. The Grand Rapids Amateur Radio Association
and Michigan Amateur Radio Alliance are sponsoring the OPERATION C.A.R.E.
COFFEE STOP at the SB US-131 Rockford rest area. THERE ARE STILL
VOLUNTEER SLOTS THAT NEED FILLING. Enough folks staying in town read this

The Grand Rapids, Michigan IRA Hamfestival is on Saturday, June 1, 2002
�..8 a.m. until it�s over!  Huge indoor facilities at the Hudsonville
Fairgrounds just north of I-196, Exit 62, 10-miles west of Grand Rapids. 
Tickets are $5.  Tables are $8.  Trunk sales spaces are available ($6). 
Friday night setup available with camping (showers and electricity
available - $10 camping fee).  Reservations are available.  Convenient

Here are ten big reasons why you should consider attending the IRA
Hamfestival:
1.	Join in the famous �Roadkill-Chili Potluck on Friday evening after
setup @ 7 p.m.
2.	Four major prizes plus dozens more!
3.	See the vintage ham radio equipment exhibit including a WW II Army
communications van and other interesting communications equipment.
4.	There will be forums and demonstrations on �Alternative Energy
Concepts.�
5.	See the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association exhibit; several
alternative energy dealers will be there.
6.	The Michigan/Florida hams will meet for an �eyeball� in the caf� at 9
a.m.
7.	VE exams start at 10:30 a.m.
8.	The Michigan Area Repeater Council will hold their quarterly meeting
at 1 p.m. for repeater owners and Trustees.
9.	Dealers are coming from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and
Wisconsin.
10.	Support the IRAs Michigan Linked Repeater System and enjoy the
west-Michigan warm weather and hospitality.
