Hi Debbie,

Thanks for the flowers.

There is a right time for every person to pass something precious held in
trust along to a friend, relative or logical person who will the trust and
in due time pass it along. When the TC position was created, George Race
was the first person to hold it. George had developed the appointment into
an active section position under SM Jim Seeley. Jim had health problems and
George was needed to become STM to be in line for his replacement.

The image of a certificate of appreciation attached is very precious to me.
I am not sure when I assumed the job, but it approaches two decades.
Wallace Murray is a close friend and extremely well qualified to assume the
TC duties. Essentially, he has been my chief assistant for several years
and has my records. Wallace will enjoy the TC task as I have and quietly go
about the tasks that come his way. His electrical engineering experience
and professional associations with his peers and the FCC field structure
assure that the job is in good hands. Passing the job along to him has been
discussed for several years and the time is right.

I have another trust to see to in addition to my family. The Society of
Manufacturing Engineers is depending upon me to continue in the work of
updating engineering reference books in the tool engineering series. This
is another labor of love. Grooming younger people to become involved in the
updating of these works is another essential task. In this life, none of us
really owns anything. What we have is passed along to others.

For your information, the longest serving TS is:

 Dale Marks K8GK

Respectfully Yours,
