OTOH, should gov't be allowed to reserve for a few of us (hams) that
which belongs to all of us? Just askin'.

Consider land area, for example, and the land grant programs of the
19th and early 20th centuries, plus government facilities and military
reservations.

We really should be grateful for what we DO have, and understand that
those perks come with obligations to advance the state of the art, as
mentioned in the El Reg piece, never forgetting the fate of 11m and
half of our 220 MHz band.

BTW, it's worth noting that OFCOM also prohibits operation of ham
transmitters aboard ANY aircraft in UK airspace - including tracking
beacons on unmanned weather balloons! This limitation is unique
amongst the EU nations, and the rest of the world AFAIK.

So I guess there aren't many hams in the Parliament?
