hello microwavers !!

If some one has build a noisesource or bought a source via Ebay and has
acces to a real noise figure meter like HP8970 or Ailtech on the QRL, how
can the ENR of the homebrew noisesource being measured if a professional
noise source is availble ?

Is it possible to measure with a PANFi or spectrumanalyser the on / off
noise power of that source and compare it with the profesional source or
is the only method to obtain the ENR table of the source at different
frequency's to use a hot and cold standard with a large temperature
difference and for each band the appropiate converter ?

I think the easiest way to obtain ENR is to compare preamps at different
frequency's with the prof source and to play aropund with the ENR setting
of the PANFI to get the same noisefigure as with the prof source ?

anyone has expierience with this kind of difficult questions ??
