[Microwave] Switching Setup Question

Hi Jesse,

That's exactly what I do. I use a Transco 6 position switch (SMA
connectors) to go between my transverters and my 2M IF rig. Pos 1= 902,
2= 1296, 3= 2304, 4= 3456, 5=5760 and 6= 10 GHz. Right not my position 5
is empty (no 5760 transverter) so I use that as a bypass so I can put a
2M antenna on the IF rig to use for coordination.

Everything works great. If you're interested, I can send you some
pictures.

Subject: [Microwave] Switching Setup Question

Does anyone have any experience in using multiposition coaxial
switches? Specifically, I have the chance to purchase a few surplus
switches with the following specs -

SP4T, 12VDC, Failsafe to position 1, break before make, SMA connectors,
rated to 18GHz

I was thinking about using a single 2M IF and one of these switches to
interface a couple of transverters for the higher bands. Would like
feedback from those that have experimented with such a setup and their
success or failure. If you blew up a rig I would like to hear from you
and learn from you. If you your setup works and hasn't "smoked" yet I
want to hear from you as well.

Cheers & 73 de N0SWV Jesse
