Hi folks,
I have recently acquired a cylindrical coaxial attenuator, Bird Tenuline
series, model 8308-300-N (75 W, 30 dB). Upon inspection I discovered the
rear resistive element is defective, probably due to excessive reverse
power. Does anybody have experience with opening the attenuator?

I managed to unscrew the rear N connector (female) and can see a cylindrical
resistor which is probably blown. It seems not impossible to repair it, but
I cannot get the heatsink off. Any ideas if it is glued or screwed together?
The heatsink is about 20 cm long and appearently it can be divided in 5
sections, the 3 in the middle with attenuators in double T configuration, and the two shorter connector sections.

Secondly, is it possible to obtain this element as spare part, and what
would be the cost? I am prepared to replace the part myself.
