It does several things: First, it is a normal everyday CW keyer, capable of keying the newer solid state rigs, but also the older grid block negative keying. Second, it will generate CW so that you can learn the code. It will do either alpha only or alpha and numeric. Front panel controls include a meter which will tell you what speed the unit is sending, up to 50 WPM. There is a speed control, delay adjustment, a switch to select "tune", keyer, alpha numeric, or alpha only, and a volume control/power switch. The back of the unit has a 2.5 mm jack for power (9 to 18 volts needed, or internal 9 V batteries), plus 1/4 jack for keyer paddles, RCA connectors for either + or - keying, and an earphone jack.
