[MFJ-Ameritron] ALS-600S kicking off

I just picked up an Ameritron ALS-600S and it kicks off on voice peaks.

At first I had it connected to my FT-100.  Turned the processor off,
mic gain at 40 and 50 watts drive into the amp. (SWR is good) 1.3 to 1

After a few moments, the amps shuts off.  Was getting about 400 watts
out.

Now the amp is connected to my FT-1000mp.  This time I have adjusted
the amp using the ALC connection.  With 50 watts in .. about 400 watts
out the amp still kicks off.

Is there a common problem with these amps that I should know about and
send the amp in to Ameritron for repair?

Any help would be appreciated.
