[MFJ-Ameritron] OOPS! HELP! 949E Up in Smoke!

> It took 10W in to charbroil contact 11, for position L, on the inductor wafer switch (SW5) for this Versa Tuner 2.  Will scaping away the carbon and burnishing the contacts restore switch function? or must I replace it?  Do you know of a generic subsitute for this 11-pole/single throw wafer? First I'ld try MFJ for information and to see if the item is still under
warranty.  2nd, MFJ usually has parts for its equipment, you might want
to see if you can buy a replacement albeit with some risk of the same
thing happening again.

Finally, you can try what used to be called tuner and/or contact cleaner
and some soft cloth to clean and possibly restore the contacts.  No
guarantees, but it's probably worth trying.
