[MFJ-Ameritron] MFJ-888 query

I am new to freq counters as a standalone. First, in the manual under
CONTROLS - RANGE SWITCH, it says the choices are 1 MHZ to 300 MHZ, and
10 MHZ to 3 GHZ. Is that a typo on the second range or is 10 mHZ
correct?

I am trying to test a dated Heathkit audio sig gen sine wave output
at 1000 HZ but cannot find the correct combo of switch settings on
the 888 to read it.
