[MFJ-Ameritron] MFJ259B analyzer

Wow
You got me thinking as I haven't looked at my MFJ-259B in over a year! 
Has cheap Radio Shack nicads.
I turned it on and the display showed:
MFJ-259B
Ver 2.22

MFJ Enterprises
(c) 1998

Voltage OK 12.4v
IIIIIII

There must be a flaw in my meter as the batteries are still up?
