[MFJ-Ameritron] I need help to repair my MFJ259: Urgent, please advice!

Hi All,

Some time ago I had a problem with a MFJ259 unit, due to a shortcircuit the=
=20
Q3 VN10 was destroyed and I found a replacement. After changing the FET=20
everything seemed to work fine ( I was calibrating the unit following the=20
calibration procedure and everything seemed ok) HOWEVER ... yesterday I was=
=20
comparing the working of my unit with another one (newer one) and I was=20
quite surprise when I discover two main problems:

1.- That the Resistance Meter did not show the same values: I mean, we were=
=20
building a dipole for 40m and with the MFJ259 unit of my friend SWR was 1:1=
=20
and Resistance meter 50ohms and with my unit SWR was 1:1 but Resistance=20
meter showed 30ohms!!

2.- I was using both units with the MFJ66 dipmeter to measure the Q of a=20
trap using a RF probe. With my unit the voltage induced in the multimeter=20
was around 30mV during resonance but with the one of my friend we got up to=
=20
300mV!!

My conclusions were:

1.- There is a problem in the Resistance Meter
2.- There is a problem in the generator of the MFJ259 when acts as a=
 DIPMETER

Could you help me please to repair it? Any idea where to look at it?
