Hi All,
Here is my predicament. Your astute wisdom and practical experience will be
greatly appreciated.
I am totally blind. I have two primary 20 meter antennas; Hustler 6BTV and
Mosley TA-33. I use them for Net operations.
I switch between them as needed. It is not possible to retune the AL-1500
amplifier each time I switch from one antenna to the other. Perhaps not even
necessary.
The swr on the Hustler 6BTV is 1:1 and the Mosley TA-33 is 1:5 I do not use an
external antenna tuner.
Is there any safe and practical way to tune the AL-1500 and leave it parked and
still be able to operate it on both antennas?
I use it on two frequencies: 14.292 and 14.315 Mhz usb.
I am using 50 watts drive, per the manual instructions.
Currently on the vertical the grid shows 45 and the plate shows 875 with 1400
watts output. High voltage is 3700.
The Mosley TA-33 shows 25 grid, 650 plate and 1000 watts output. High voltage is
the same, of course.
The amp was tuned on the vertical with the lower swr.
Any suggestions on how to use it on both antennas safely?
Thank you for your assistance.
