Hi all,

Great news everyone, the Southeastern VHF Society /
Mini-Circuits
Annual Award for Design Achievement is being continued for
our 2005
Conference!!

This is a circuit design competition co-sponsored with
Mini-Circuits
that has a first prize of either $1000 cash or a $2500 gift
certificate for Mini-Circuits products. Second thru sixth
place
winners would receive gift certificates worth $200. The
design
competition is for SVHFS members (registration for the
conference
includes your membership). The circuits will be judged at
the annual
conference April 29 & 30, 2005. Detailed rules are on our
webpage at
www.svhfs.org  The panel chairman for the design award is
Charles
Osborne, K4CSO cosborne at pari.edu

Registration is now OPEN yeayyy! for our 9th Annual SVHFS
Conference
April 29 & 30, 2005 in Charlotte NC. This is a new location
for us
and is looking to be a good one. You are encouraged to send
your
registration in by March 29, 2005 to qualify for the early
registration
prize drawing of a $200 gift certificate for Down East
Microwave products.

The technical program is coming along nicely. If you would
like to
present a program or would like to have a paper included in
the
proceedings, please get in contact with our Technical
Program Chair
Ray Rector, WA4NJP wa4njp at bellsouth.net. The deadline for
submissions
is March 20, 2005.

Program highlights for the conference include; technical
presentations,
Kick-Off Lunch on Friday, printed copy of the conference
proceedings,
group rates at the hotel, pre-amp noise figure and gain
measurement,
antenna gain measurement, judging for the
SVHFS/Mini-Circuits Annual
Award for Design Achievement, flea market, manufacturer
exhibits,
annual SVHFS auction, card checking for VUCC & Worked All of
'EM,
presentation of Fall VHF/UHF Sprint certificates, K4UHF
Award presentation,
annual banquet with guest speaker and door prizes.
