Hi,
again some winter camping made. During R1MVW expedition we planned to be
few nites in car KO36, great that wx was not too cold this time. Just during
1st contest night PTT diode bridge blow up from GU-34 linear and spare
linear
with GU-74 gived out only 80w... But near fermer house we found some spare
diodes from brokened TV and so, again better output. Really fermer ask
what is problem with our TV, yesterday 30sec ok, 30 sec bad.... we told and
great answer "anyway ur hobby is more interesting, so we will not look tv
during
next few days".
It was really interesting that we had totally 27 NC qsos. Several stations
that we heard fb and answered were maybe so shy ones that next 10-15 min
empty band, or operators wast just too quicklys with making QSY some
another freq. Also several times makes me wonder that operators didn't
listen what
we transmittet, often 10 or even more minutes every period we heard
somebody calling us even we didn't make qso with him. So some BIG extra QRM
but
"that's contest". But need to say that it was not 1st idea pick up those
callsings for next QSO. Just interest today drive home and look out dx
cluster tips, how meny times during RANDOM contest asked "Pse turn ant to
xxx" Really great enjoy operate without dx cluster in middle of nothing
;) Unfortunately 15th was QRL day so we me setdown already 14th Dec
afternoon.
So what was results? 60 litres beer, 1 litre vodka + 1 litre brandy,
around 60 litres diesel for generator, for me 1300 km on the road,
RU1AS,RX1AX
and RV2FW/1 (Victor went also KO36xx for HF portable operating, great help
with while made antenna setup) 800 km on the road. 3 nights in car, but
greatly
once also was possible visit tratidional smoke sauna (without smoke pipe).
Just wondering why normally during BCC is not more portable operators,
great time camping because flying QRM not at all - mosquitos ;)
Log will be in internet after contest log stopdate. Just may say, more
qso's than RK1B/1 2003 + 2004 BCC together but quess not enought for 1st
place.
