Southeastern VHF Society 8th Annual Conference
Atlanta GA, April 23 & 24, 2004

Hi all,

The Southeastern VHF Society has some new activities that we want
to tell you about.

--> Southeastern VHF Society / Mini-Circuits Annual Award for Design
Achievement. This is a circuit design competition co-sponsored with
Mini-Circuits that has a first prize of either $1000 cash or a $2500
gift certificate for Mini-Circuits products. Second thru sixth place
winners would receive gift certificates worth $200. The design
competition is for SVHFS members (registration for the conference
includes your membership). Detailed rules are on our webpage at
www.svhfs.org and the panel chairman for the design award is Charles
Osborne, K4CSO cosborne@pari.edu

--> Worked All of 'EM Award. This operating award is for working all
the Grid Squares in the EM field on VHF frequencies. This is a new
award sponsored by the SVHFS and is open for all to participate in.

Be sure to come visit with us for our 8th Annual Conference in
Atlanta GA, April 23 & 24, 2004. We have a great program in the works
for the conference. Lots of great presentations and new this year, a
Kick-Off Lunch on Friday with our guest speaker Gene Zimmerman, W3ZZ,
the editor of the 'World Above 50 MHz' in QST.

The Backscratcher Antenna Competition went over so well last year that
we are bringing it back again. This time for 2304MHz. What is he
talking about?? Backscratchers?? Backscratcher antennas?? Take a look
at our website and our photo gallery to see what the fun is all about.
Scratch that antenna design itch!

Other program highlights for the conference include; printed copy of
the conference proceedings, group rates at the hotel, pre-amp noise
figure and gain measurement, antenna gain measurements, backscratcher
antenna competition, judging for the SVHFS/Mini-Circuits Annual Award
for Design Achievement, flea market, manufacturer exhibits, annual
SVHFS auction, card checking for VUCC & Worked All of 'EM, K4UHF Award
presentation, annual banquet with guest speaker and door prizes.

Conference registration has begin and you are encouraged to send your
registration in by March 23, 2004 to qualify for the early registration
prize of a $200 gift certificate for Down East Microwave products.
