Graham,
With all respect, I did not want to start a discussion about the mis-use of
the CLX as I don't think that there
is much difference in our opinions. The use you are describing is exactly
what I don't like either. If that was
not clear from my message, I apologize.
I do think however that it is legitimate to put in a simple statement such
as
OE3FVU 144365 CQ dir UA from JN78 in order to spread activity out on the
band. That was the statement I wanted
to make and I am more than willing to discuss this.
Regarding your last remark abt you never have heard me... Well, I am sure I
have not heard the majority of stations
active on 2 meters in Europe and my guess that it might be similar to you,
can't not be too far off. And no, I am not
a big station, but still big enough to have worked some one-yagi stations
via EME. (Yes in JT44 and JT65 thanks to Joe).
Nevertheless, I don't think that an opinion is only limited radio club
officials, nor do I think that opinions are
limited to to big or wellknown stations only.
We most probably do look at different clusters, but with (almost) identical
information and I share your concerns.
So I think the fustration expressed in your message has been initiated by a
misunderstanding, probably caused by
me not expressing me 100% well.
I do not think that our opinions differ significantly. I hope you come to
Vienna, as I will be part of the OEVSV
team organizing the the meeting - and I would be more than glad to discuss
this further with a glass of beer (I don't
think that we will be able to agree on a good Austrian whine - in the eyes
of frenchman...)

hey wait a minute.......let's discuss it........
there is a very good reason not to use the cluster and that's because it
pisses me off....
I'm totally sick and tired of reading useless waffle and bullshit the whole
day long on there.
"I'd like to work you"
"lets go to xxx then"
"no sorry cannot qrm go to yyy instead"
"ok then yyy it is"
" shall I go first or second"
" you go first"
"oh I thought you were first"
" no it's you first"
"ok then rrrr xxx and me first"
"no, no yyyy and me first"
"ok then"
then 500 milliseconds later......
"I haven't heard you yet are you on"
" yes I'm on first"
"are you sure your on first"
"yes"
then station three opens up......
"your pc clocks 3 seconds fast"
"no its not I got a whoopy wonderful bit of software"
"yes is it"
"no it isn't"
"hey listen your clocks wrong"
"my dad could beat your dad up"
"no he couldn't"
meantime back at the proposed QSO.......
"have you heard me yet"
"no nothing"
"oh wait yes I heard you"
"oh good we've been going 2 minutes we should have completed by now"
"yes I'm bored already too"
"ok I've got a report now"
"right oh' don't stop"
at this point station 4 breaks in (on cluster not on radio)
"I'm calling you now"
"hey please wait I haven't finihsed with geek yet"
"ok then after on zzz"
"no I want to stay on yyy"
"ok then yyy me first ?"
"no me first"
"ok then"
meantime back at the proposed qso......
"you got my rrr yet"
"no not yet, don't stop"
"ok I 'll keep going then"
and so it goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.....until
someones already short attention span runs out and one or other then types
"thanks for the great QSO first time I worked fh4^hjg "
"hey my calls hf2ghh"
"oh yeah sorry course it is"
Phew what a relief for the whole world...... and congratulations to W1JT who
may take great satisfaction (and indeed my respect and compliments) from
having completed another QSO.
