Hi,
Steve, SO5AS, here, qth near Warsaw.
Although licensed since 1971, I am only just recently ( this month in fact )
qrv for the first time using meteor scatter propagation.
While I have successfully been copying pings on WSJT/FSK441 and HSCW I
haven't yet made any qsos. But I am sure success will come
To help me along a bit I have some questions, the responses to which have
not been received from various other sources, like packet mail, announcments
on the dx cluster, or found among internet pages or those in my own library
of ham radio books and mags.
If anyone can help a newcomer to the mode, I would appreciate some feedback
on the following.
What period is preferred on 2 mtrs for both FSK441 and HSCW ?
When calling cq using FSK441 in random ms, should a letter be included to
indicate the qsx as in cw, eg CQG means listening up 7 etc, ( will it be
generally understood ), or are qsos made simplex on the cq frequency ?
I think it's all for now. I am sure I'll think up some other FAQs for
another time until my own level of knowledge increases.
My vy 73 de Steve, SO5AS ( ex G4ASL ).

PS. I would welcome any skeds, 2 or 6m, HSCW or FSK441. It would be good to
form a judgement on my tx effectiveness.
