[Meteor-Scatter] RK1B KO49wn Quadrantids

 Hi Ping jockeys!

 During last shower we made little expediton to KO49wn, RU1AS summer gottate
 for trying if
 meteor signal can fly also in freezing wx.

 2nd Jan
 At home sqr KP41kl was -34c when startet trip to KO49. But diesel didn't
 congeal so my van worked and evening we were after crossing one border and
 St. Petersburg in KO49wn. Nearly in cottage, just last 100 meter road was
 not open. So with shovel we also decide that problem in one hour.

 In QTH was just -21c inside. That was warm because -28c outside... But with
bottled gas heaters and electricy heaters there was enought for living.
Evening we tested also to operate but without results.

 3th Jan
Morning was warm enought to get up form bed. Again for testing MS but no
results. Reason was easy to understand, antenna was ice covered... Igor
RZ1AP also visited in our qth, great because we had several outdoor things
to do ;)) So we taked tower down (just 10m high) and cleaned 10el yagi. And
tower back setup. Great, when wx was around -25c and a littlebit wind...
After that we made also littlebit firewood for sauna and carry in the
cottage also central heating boiler (around 100kg....). But after all it was
time again to look about meteors ;)

Our setup was IBM 166MHz notebook, ICOM IC-706 with GI-7b PA and 10el yagi
6m boom. And our log was small but
even something. And as U see, Sauna was hot enought in 18 utc!

After that nothing C qsos, seems that poor rocks on the air. We stopped TX

Morning all things to car and driving back to OH side. When I was back at
home it was again time to look cluster and I don't thing do I have to smile
or cry, or am I just too old-fashioned, because to me it's not easy to
understand comments in cluster like "PSE QTF 235 tnx / Nice refl. I'm
calling U / CQ 160ms 6db I call...". We informed earlier that we don't use
DX cluster, and all qsos will made via radio because we operate random, not
via cluster assistant... But shit happend...

IDEAS...

Just during this winter picnic we had also several plans for next summer (as
usual, let's see what we'll do...) expedition with 2 setup, one for HSCW and
2nd for WSJT,

 BUT

 30sec period is too quickly for HSCW when like with DTR clean old
information when start to decode new, and if I thing that WSJT cand decode
2.5min. When drive 2 signal in one QTH naturally have to use same TX and RX
time if want to hear anything. So 1min period will be  compromise. Up here
north it's not problem, but how RX/TX periods will go in some rush VHF areas
after that...? Interest to hear comments. But where we have plan to go? Just
we may look Guidos DL8EBW MWS 2003 when it's ready.

And about OH sqrs, if U need some in 6/2m MS or live so near of OH side so
maybe also 6/2/0.7/0.23 meter tropo is possible pse click that u need in my
