The HA6OQ Meteor Scatter Memorial Contest Rules

The members of the Radio Club of Salgotarjan (HA6KNB, HG6N),in memory of a=
=20
fanatic HSCWer, Istv=E1n Dicse (HA6OQ) who died on 18th of November, 1998=
 (he=20
went to the heavens with the "Dream Leo", we should say ) at the age of 36=
=20
,decided to organize a Meteor Scatter Memorial Contest from the Year of=20
2003, every fifth year, during the Geminids shower.
The AIM of the Contest is to keep HSCW alive and increase the random HSCW=20
MS activity, also strengthen the understanding and use of the letter system.
Contest period: As we agreed with the BCC Meteor Scatter Contest=20
organizers, always the same period as the BCC MS Contest! Will be announced=
=20
later.

Mode: HSCW only
Categories: I. HSCW Single Op.
II. HSCW Multi Op.

Operating procedures: As it is adopted from the BCC rules, " during the=20
Contest it is allowed
to change the QTH to another grid square. In this case the same station
can be worked again. The new QTH must be indicated by the callsign
( e.g. OH2AV, OH0/OH2AV).
SKED QSOs do not count for the Contest! QSOs confirmed via Packet
Radio or Internet do not count for the Contest."

Frequencies: As it is adopted from the BCC rules," it is recommended to use=
=20
the frequency range from 144.095 to 144.105 MHz for CQ calls using the IARU=
=20
REGION I. procedure (letter system). There are no frequency limits. If=20
there is no clear frequency between 144.100 and 144.126 MHz, than please=20
try to use the EXTENDED LETTER SYSTEM.
(e.g. CQ "AA" =3D TX QRG + 27 kHz, CQ "BB" =3D TX QRG + 28 kHz
and so on)

Exchange: Full call signs, reports and final rogers.

Scoring:
1. A complete random HSCW QSO with other than JN98 square 1 point
2. A complete random HSCW QSO with JN98 square 2 points
3. Like (1.) but using a letter system 3 points
4. Like (2.) but using a letter system 5 points

Multiplier:
As it is adopted from the BCC rules, " sum of different prefixes worked.
Prefixes are defined according to the WPX rules. (e.g. DL5, DL1, DJ8, I2,=20
IK2, S51, S53 are different prefixes)".

Final score: Total QSO points times Multipliers.

Logs:
As it is adopted from the BCC Rules, " the following data must be included:=
=20
Operator's name, category, call sign, address and QTH locator. Multi OP=20
stations list all operators. For each QSO: date, time in UTC, worked=20
station, report sent and report received must be given.
Mark all QSOs which were conducted using the IARU Region I letter system
Technical data about equipment and antennas used also should be stated.
Deadline is 31st December, 2003 (postmark)".

Awards:
The winner of the Contest is the station with the highest score. If two=20
stations submit equal score, the station who worked more JN98 wins, if the=
=20
scores are still the same, than the log with the better multiplier wins.

The LNA-145 is given only if the winner made more than 20 complete HSCW=20
QSOs and worked with at least one station from JN98 square!

The LNA-145 is sponsored by HA6ND, HA6NQ and HA6NY in 2003.

Printed results, including the list of sponsors, will be sent to all=20
participants via E-mail or regular mail till the end of March, 2004.
Magazines and radio amateurs World Wide have been informed about this=
 activity.

If anyone of the MS community wants to sponsor the Contest, we kindly ask=20
you, DO NOT SEND CASH to the organizers. Please send ONLY IRCs!
