Hallo together,
a littel bit late but probably not to late I send you my Perseides report.
It is difficult for me to assess whether this Perseides had been worse,
equal
or even better than the years before as I took part the first time after
a 20 year interrupt and as you could imagine it is not objective and also
useless
to try to compare this Perseides with that one 20 years ago.
But one is for sure: There is much more activity than in the mid 80. One
reason is
with out any doubt WSJT which has pushed the activity dramaticly.
In the beginning of the 80's it took a lot of effort to built a MS station
with audio mixer, tuned cassett
recorders, electronic keyers and last but not least stable power amplifiers
which
the ability to survive 5min.(!) periodes.
Compared to the Leonides last year, I was a little bit disappointed by the
SSB random
activity.
How did the Persides have been for me?
Quite easy to say: In my eyes very successful!
I worked from the 5.-14. August on MS:
23 new squares and 2 new DXCC's
including my new MS-ODX with SM2CEW over 2063Km.
Several other new squares are worked on tropo, but not listed below.

Anzahl aufgelisteter QSOs 24
The quickest QSO was with LA8K in 7 minutes and it could have been even
quicker
some days before when I heard very loud and often in every period, but I
could
not disturb an ongoing sked.
Thanks a lot also to Stefan, LA0BY/p, for the patience with me, as I could
hear
him not to loud. I don't know way.
Beside the complete QSO's I heard a lot of station on random including two
very
interesting ones but couldn't reach them.
1. RN6BN 2099Km
2. RA3QTT 2092Km
Further staion just heard on random, partly very often and loud:
UA3DHU, HA3UU (new#), ES1RF, RK2FWA (new#+newDXCC), SM3IEK (new#), OH1JCS,
RA3AQ,
LZ1AG (new#), HA5KDQ, SK4BX (new#), YU71ZP, OM3KDX, UT8AL (new#), + a lot of
DL/PA/OE/I/G stations
The only frustration had been the OH9O expedition for me, as I was not able
to hear
any ping from them.
Ok, I had to admit, that the distances are quite far 2294Km for the
KP37square and even
2410Km for the KP43 square. May be to far for my QTH.
Since my return to 144MHz end of September 2002 I've worked 154# and
34DXCC's and some
low hanging fruits have still to be earned (LX/YO/TK/9H/RK2/GI/T9) :-))
Hope to hear some of you in the next reflections..
My rig is:
4*2,4wl / 500W
The Perseides report will be on my homepage/MS in a few days.
