The rule exists, Derek. It clearly says that between the start and the end of a QSO NO INFORMATION or comments can be exchanged by
other ways (Other bands, Telephone, and Internet of course..), so that the contact can be considered good.
The problem is simply that some operators (some of them not newcomers, to my surprise) like to exchange all kind of details of the
progress of the QSO and simply ignore that rule. I have been frozen of how common this has become at ON4KST's chat and I really
cannot understand what kind of satisfaction these operators get of cheating QSOs.
Just my opinion anyway. Might be I am wrong and I should join them so that we all play with the same wrong rules :-((
