Kenneth,
The stacking distances are depending on the antennas themselves. It would be
best to contact the manufacturer to obtain these values. If you can not get
a positive result,
you will have to find out what the vertical angle of opening is; depending
on that angle I would
be able to calculate a stacking distance - BUT it wouldn't be as good as the
details from the
manufacturer.
One question; what do you want to achieve with stacking ? Note that vertical
opening of the
antenna will be drastically reduced, giving you a disadvantage when working
Aurora or Meteor
Scatter (not speaking from EME)if you are not able to elevate (which I do
not expect, if I understand
your construction). Advantages of vertical stcking are for example with
tropo and with contest work.
I myself use 2 14 element crossyagis, horizontally stacked (with elevation)
meant for MS and EME.
If you plan to use the antennas for really weak signal reception, (signals
at the noise floor or even below)
I suggest not to follow Juha's advice as there is some degredation of the
system. However, this is actually only
a problem if you are using the system for EME. for any other purpose,
Juha's advice to mount the 2 70 cm beams
between the 2 meter beams is a very good advice !
Good luck - franz
