--CALL FOR PAPERS & Conference Update--

Hello everyone,

I wanted to pass along to the list that we are still looking for more
programs and papers for the Southeastern VHF Society Conference
to be held in Oak Ridge Tennessee, April 26 & 27, 2002.

Even if someone is not able to make it to the conference we would
still encourage them to submit a paper for publishing in the
proceedings.

Anyone that is interested should get in touch with Program
Chairperson Skip KG4QDZ via kg4qdz@arrl.net  The deadline for
submissions is set at March 1, 2002.

New conference information:

I also wanted to pass along that we now have three new additions
to the Conference activities. We now have a Friday night tour of
Ten-Tec, a family program has been developed and our speaker is
confirmed for the Saturday night banquet.

Eric AC4LS, has agreed to give us the "nickel tour" of the Ten-Tec
plant in Sevierville TN. The tour will head out after the rest of the
conference activities are done for the day on Friday.   

The family program will include a trip to a local outlet mall Friday.
On Saturday there will be a tour of some local museums or points
of interest that family members agree on. Two of our Oak Ridge
Hosts, Wayne KF4VZQ and his wife, have graciously donated their
time and efforts towards developing this program.

Our speaker for the banquet is Joe Dooly, P.E. from the Oak Ridge
National Laboratory on the topic "Weapons of Mass Destruction in
Perspective." It should be an interesting and timely presentation.
