Hello Tony!

>In 6 months of operating WSJT I believe that all the qso I have completed

I'm, like you, QRV on HSCW since many years. Since 1 year I'm experiencing
MS activity on FSK441.
I don't think it's a matter of speed. There is a huge difference in time
elapsed to complete a QSO
on WSJT and on HSCW with the actual tools available.
For example I had a sked with HB9FAP on HSCW. I received many weak and
short bursts (<300ms) and I could not
decode them at all with WinMSDSP. It took 65min to complete the QSO with 8
>=500ms >3db bursts and
some 20 weak and short bursts undecoded. I don't exxagerate on guessing
that it would have taken no more than
20min to complete it on FSK441 whether we like this new mode or not.
I completed quite a number of WSJT QSO outside shower using <5w both
stations. Never heard something like
that has ever been achived by using HSCW.
I have been using DTR and MSDSP tools as soon as they came out, and to me
there is really a big difference indeed if we compare them to WSJT if
we wanna talk about effectiveness and efficiency.

>Get Joe K1JT to write a hscw visual decode program along the lines of MSDSP,
>that allow CW ops to work normally and non CW ops to view the info on the
>screen.

That might be a good idea that will allow all old HSCW timers like me and
you to have the
"sensation" to keep working on CW, but it would be just an illusion because
all decodification work
would have been done by the PC.
