Hello all
Just a quick report from me, and a few comments afterwards:
12 August
09.40 S54M 26 26 JN86 1268km
12.45 ES1RF/3 26 26 KO29 1701km
13.10 HA5KDQ 27 27 JN98 1339km
16.10 OH6MAZ 37 27 KP21 1779km
18.20 OH6KTL 26 27 KP02 1681km
13 August
07.40 ES5KJ 26 26 KO38 1782km
All were WSJT
There were several failed skeds, and several completions that I had not
anticipated.
"Heard" UT5JCW on the 12th and 13th, at about 2535km. We made a sked for the
13th and reports were exchanged but the qso was not complete. Unfortunately
I had done some aerial work earlier in the day and was only using a single 9
element and no preamp. It amazes me that we got as far as we did. Must try
again Serge !
Chaos on .370. Why do people make skeds on this frequency ?
One operator had his packet cluster audio announcements being transmitted
with the WSJT !
On 12th August I was using a pair of 9 elements stacked. I got the
impression that the vertical beamwidth was too small for ms. Any comment ?
Re qsy from .370, the system needs to be simple: CQ G4ZTR 377. What more do
you need ?
Remember, WSJT is optimised for short weak bursts. It was not made for use
in major showers. Did you try decoding you neighbours? It won't work. I
would like to ask K1JT if he can make a option for better decoding of big
signals.
Regards all
