Hi ALL! (message dated April 7 2002)

This is definately off topic but its maybe of interest for
some of you.
Yesterday around 20.15 utc I have seen a big fireball on the
night-sky. Its was almost as big like a full-moon with several
long stripes! The colour was bright-yellow and was visible for
about some seconds.
First I thought someone did shoot a left millenium-rocket (31-12).
The neighbourhood was thinking about a big lightening of a thunder
but there was NO chance for a storm as it was clear, dry and cold.

Later around midnight I was listening to the news at the radio.
The speaker of the radio station did say that this phenomen was
reported /seen over many hundreds kilometers in south Germany.
First it was supposed that it might have been a aircraft crash
or some satellite from the NASA was burning out in the atmosphere.
This morning even the UFO control station was active and helicopters
were out for finding something.

But most likely it was a BIG METEOR (we call it Boloide - same in English?)
Never have seen a such fireball before !
Perhaps some of you had nice MS-condx last night?

Sorry for this input but maybe something different after all this
JT44 discussion!
