CARR:
Carroll County ARES supported the DHMH radio kit test on Saturday December 1.
Participating were WO3L, WX3B, KB3RJH, W8IS, KC8ZUP, KB3WAV, KB3VWK, WX3F,
W3JJH, N3MSP, NS3X, N3SOI, KE3FL, K3RTW, N8PK, and KB3RPP.
DC
Conducted a Public Service Communications workshop with HacDC. Continuing to
conduct the NCAC Net on Sunday evenings at 9pm to provide a venue for DC and
local coordination on the Tysons Corner 146.91 (-) repeater. Investigating
needs for amateur radio support in conjunction with the upcoming Presidential
Inauguration.
GARR
The Garrett County ARES monthly meeting was held on November 12th .
Pam Viner (N3HFC) gave a presentation on Winlink 2000, AirMail and Telnet and
the use of AirMail on the National Traffic System.
The Garrett County ARES (GCARES) monthly meeting and annual Christmas dinner
will be held at the Oakland China Wok located on route 219 north of Oakland
Maryland on Monday December 10th at 7:00 PM.
The GCARES net is held weekly on Sunday evenings at 8:00 PM on the 146.805
repeater, dup PL 123 and is linked to the WAN and Target Link Repeater Systems.
All traffic is FM voice.
HOWA
On Sunday, November 11, 2012 HOWA ARES supported the Howard County Striders’ Metric Marathon from 0730 to 1130.
The 16 mile event takes place annually in Columbia and our support included operators at each of five water stations, two bicycle mobiles and 2 net control operators.
KENT
Both Repeaters are operating 100% of the time. Worked with Kent County OES
to gather information on equipment to be replaced with the fielding of the
new 700 MHZ radios. Also received one 700 MHZ radio which will be installed
in KARS Emergency Communications Trailer.
Working on finalizing MOU document which includes both RACES and ARESMAT
deployment provisions. Should be completed within two weeks.

Nets: Held four regularly scheduled training VHF nets on 146.61MHz on Tuesdays
at 1930L.
The monthly HF Hospital Net is held the Wednesday following the third Monday of
the month on 3820KHz at 1930L. All are welcome.
Meetings: Monthly meeting held the 3rd Monday of the month at the Fire Services
Building, 6820 Webster St, Landover Hills, MD at 1930. Eyeball QSOs at 1900.
November 10: PRGE ARES® held a very preliminary meeting in preparation for the
upcoming 2013 Presidential Inauguration.
November 17: PRGE ARES® supported a "Emergency Preparedness Day" with Urban
Preparedness, Inc in Suitland, MD passing out ARES® brochures and explaining our
worth to the community.
November 19: Bryan Dorbert, N3ST spoke at our monthly ARES® meeting on the
C.A.R.G. 440 Linking System that we use in our quarterly hospital drills.
