nets on 146.61MHz on Tuesdays at 1930L. The monthly HF Hospital Net is held
the Wednesday following the third Monday of the month on 3820KHz at 1930L.
March 10: Some of our radio operators assisted in putting together our
first ARES deployment "Shelter Kit." It consisted of two pelican boxes, one
a VHF kit and the second an HF Kit. Future plans call for two more kits.
The three kits will be stored at venues North, Central and South county
with 24/7 access. March 16: PRGE ARES radio operators, WB3KAS and N3ADF,
members of American Legion Post 66, Bowie, set up a simple HF station at
the Post and contacted K9TAL celebrating 93 years of service and support to
America's military veterans. March 17: Conducted an ARES Shelter Deployment
Exercise at the St. Joseph Fire/Emergency Medical Services Station 806 in
Springdale, MD, the county's newly built station. The objective was to
exercise and proof out the recently built Shelter Kit. A group of local
hams set up a relay station at the nearby American Legion Post 275 in
Glenarden, MD. RMS Express WinMOR was used to send a 'welcome' message to
county Fire Chief Marc Bashoor. . .sitting in the room with us. Four
minutes later the email arrived on his cell phone. His comment on receipt
of message. . ."I am a believer." Complete story is posted on the county
