[MDC-EC] ARRL HQ Hurricane Irene Update August 25

Folks;

Here is some information from Mike Corey, ARRL HQ, on Hurricane Irene  
planning:


Irene Information Page – We will be setting up, later today, a webpage  
for general information on Irene. We will publish the website address  
when it is live. If there is specific information you would like  
publicized email it to Ken Bailey, K1FUG, k1fug at arrl.org.

Hurricane Watch Net – HWN has asked that active state EOC’s check in  
today (Thursday) to test capability and exchange preliminary  
information. HWN is operating on 14.325 MHz.

NVOAD – At this point no additional requests have come in from  
national partners. I will be on a conference call with them this  
afternoon, if any requests are made I will let you all know.

W1AW – We will have W1AW staffed this weekend starting at 7am Eastern  
Time. If you need to contact ARRL HQ during the weekend via landline  
please call W1AW at 860-594-0268 or 860-594-0337.

Emergency HF Nets – Please continue to let us know when your HF  
emergency nets are active and on what frequencies. We can publicize  
this information to help avoid potential interference and let folks  
know where to listen at. W1AW will be available as a resource to the  
field organization if needed, otherwise the operator will monitor net  
activity.
