Hi All,
First, could you please respond as to who is doing what in what hospital
region on May 3, 4 and 5? We're wondering if all regions will be exercising
on the same or different days. For those on the same days, perhaps we could
pass some WL2K traffic or traffic on the repeaters listed in the next
paragraph.
Second, we'd had some conversation with FRED folks about doing a test of the
linked 440 repeater system maintained by Bryan Dorbert, N3ST. PRGE uses it
for their quarterly hospital drills. FRED had suggested doing the test on
the evening of May 2. The idea would be to find out what coverage it has by
noting addresses of the check-ins and plotting them after the test. There
is a 440 repeater in FRED, BACO, Laurel, Suitland and Brandywine. This
could be a great way to link some hospitals and regional nets.
Who would be willing to handle NCS and track the check-ins and what time
would be good for the test? Please respond through this reflector.
Hopefully the ECs in the areas around those repeaters will put this out for
your membership to see if they can hit the one near them. If you want to
try from a hospital or EOC, so much the better.
Here's the information on the repeaters and a website for them.
