as possible in the MDC Section. SM Jim WI3N, ASM Al KZ3AB and I will be
shooting video of each of the sites we visit, and plan on putting together
a tour video that can be shared with local clubs, and used as a way to
introduce others to our hobby.

and had booth set up to demonstrate to the public how Ham Radio
operates. A Special Event Station (HF) was set up. Was not able to make
any contacts (20 meters was dead). 21 operators participated for a total of
121 hrs. Operators got lots of practice sending and receiving messages. All
went well.

and emergency operations. Also Certificates of Recognition were presented
to family members Marcia (KD8NZA & mother), Sarah (KD8NZB & daughter), and
Isaiah (KD8NZC & son) Spaid for recently passing their Technician class
exam. Also, we welcomed new member Jill Schaumloeffel (N2JLC) to the
Garrett County ARES. The Garrett County ARES net is held weekly on Sunday
evenings at 8:00 PM on the Outback Repeater System (primary repeaters
146.805 and 145.33 dup PL 123.) All traffic is FM voice. Our monthly

Cecil County: On May 15 Rick, AK3E, Cliff, K3CF, and George, KB3LJB set up
a ham communications station for a Boy Scout Camporee at the Cecil County
YMCA. Rick, AK3E, set up his FLEX-3000 with a large flat-panel display and
we monitored 20 meters for PSK signals. Band conditions were horrible and
we had very little luck. We also used Cliff's, K3CF, mobile rig and started
making 2 meter contacts through a couple of local repeaters. One of our 2
meter contacts, Lynn, K3TKE, had been trying to work RTTY on 20 meters also
with no luck. The scouts really enjoyed talking on the radio and we were
able to help several of them get their communications badge.
