Comments:
Kent County: June 8th and 9th - KARS supplied communications for the
Chester River Hospital Drill (Oper. Endurican). Most of the hospitals on
the Eastern Shore participated in this drill. Kent County was able to pass
traffic to Talbot County EOC and Wicomico County EOC via the 146.820
repeater in Salisbury. Was a very good test and all went well. KARS held
it's Field Day at Worton Park near Chestertown, MD. Had 5 stations set up,
QRP-CW, SSB. GOTA and Digital .Had about 25 members and guests attend.
About 17 members spent 208 hours plus or minus with setup, operating and
taking down. Great training opportunity. Everyone had a good time and
plenty to eat. One of our members likes to cook!!
Wicomico County: Wicomico County RACES/ARES Activation Wicomico RACES/ARES
took part in a drill with the Peninsula Regional Medical Center and other
hospital on the peninsula on June 8, 9, and 10. It was a great learning
experience. We received very good comments from PRMC and Wicomico County.
Field DAY June 26, 2010 Wicomico RACES/ARES took part in some local Field
Day events including the Delmarva Amateur Radio Club (DARC) Field Day. The
DARC is an ARRL affiliated club and held their event in Fruitland,
Maryland. We also attended the Peninsula Radio Operators Society (PROS)
Field Day event at Furnacetown, Maryland. Thanks to Jim Cross for attending
and supporting us at these locations. Delmarva Emergency Net: Sundays at
6:30 PM using 3.905 MHz - Primarily stations on the Virginia, Maryland, and
Delaware Eastern Shore. Net Control, Sussex County Emergency Coordinator,
Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES). Local Net: Delmarva Amateur Radio
Enhancement Net every Monday night at 9:00 p.m. The DAR Net is sponsored
by the Delmarva Amateur Radio Club which is now an ARRL Affiliated group
operating a repeater on 146.820 MHz PL 156.7 Hz.

featuring participation by 13 county ARES members and additional operations
by members of the Potomac Valley Radio Club. Participating ARES members

Prince Georges County: Wanda Montgomery KA3AHI provided an interesting
report on The Third Quarter 2010 Health Care Coalition Drill, held July 6,
2010: The drill kicked off at 7:30 p.m. Nick, N3CK served as Primary Net
Control for the two meter net, operating from Bowie Medical Center, Bowie,
MD. Total number of checkins: 14. Amateur Radio Health Care Coalition Teams
and Team Members reported directly to their assigned position at the
following facilities in support of the Prince George's County, Maryland,
Health Care Coalition and the Office of Emergency Management. Represented
in the drill were Prince George's County Hospital Center, Cheverly, Bowie
Medical Center, Bowie, Doctors Community Hospital, Lanham, Southern
Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton, Prince George's County Department of
Health, Largo, Prince George's County, Department of Homeland Security's
Emergency Operations Center, Landover Hills, MD. Among our distinguished
participants was Andrew, K3NHT, operating from Cvisita Hospital, located in
Charles County at Laplata, MD. Andrew, a relative new "ham" shouldered sole
responsibility for bringing the hospital's emergency backup radio systems
on line and checking into the Prince George's County Third Quarter Health
Care Coalition Drill. Andrew also demonstrated the mutual aide concept
between Prince George's and Charles County. Chuck, N3ODK, from Greenbelt,
reported to Doctors Community Hospital, representing mutual aide support
from the Central Maryland Amateur Radio Club, Greenbelt, MD. Spencer,
KB3USD, a new "ham" of less than two months, and, a new Amateur Radio
Emergency Service (ARES) member, reported to Prince George's County
Hospital Center in support of drill operations at that location. Spencer is
especially interested in getting involved in emergency communication
services. Chuck, KB3UDJ, Severn, Anne Arundel County, was a guest check-in
to the 440 net after accidentally discovering the net in progress. Welcome
Chuck. Paul Ledford, Prince George's County Department of Health, was a
guest participant in the Drill by providing after working hours ease of
access for the Radio Operators participating in the drill from that location.
Cecil County: The Chesapeake Bay Radio Association (CBRA) ARES volunteers
set up and operated their equipment for Field Day 2010 at the WA3SFJ
Repeater Site. The tower there made an excellent hanger for antennas. We
operated voice, CW, and BPSK-31 on as many bands as we could hear signals.
We used George's (KB3LJB) generator to provide the power. Thanks go to
Wayde, K3MF, for his help in troubleshooting and repairing a 40-meter
dipole that decided to malfunction just before the start of the event.
Saturday evening the MDC SM Jim Cross, WI3N, and MDC ASM Al Brown, KZ3AB,
stopped by to pay us a visit on their whirlwind tour of Field Day sites in
the MDC Section. Other operators and visitors included Alex, K3CIM, Bob,

stations with 17 participants supporting the event. The Garrett County ARES
net is held weekly on Sunday evenings at 8:00 PM on the Outback Repeater
System (primary repeater 146.805 dup PL 123) all traffic is FM voice. Our
monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00 PM at the
