Comments:

Allegany County: Allegany County had a public service emergency 
preparedness display at a local shopping mall.

Anne Arundel County: Five ARES members (N3SEO, N3HKJ, K3TED, N3KNP, and 
KB3DCA) supported a Fire Department Expo. Four ARES members (N3SEO, K8JW, 
N3KNP, and WB3KDB) supported Hurricane Hanna readiness.

Calvert County: Six ARES members attended the Southern Maryland Picnic 
located at Baden VFD

Garrett County: This month ARES supported the SavageMan Triathlon on 
9/21/08 with support from the Allegany Co. ARES group. A total of 17 
volunteers provided radio communications throughout the Garrett Co. Bike 
course covering over 51 miles. The EOC was located in a mobile command 
center also manned with EMC, State Police, Sheriffs Dept and MEMA personnel.

Howard County: ARES supported activation of Howard County RACES as Tropical 
Storm Hanna passed through the county, and provided Comms support for the 
Baltimore Bicycle Club Civil War Century Bike Ride.

Kent County: On September 16th KARS started their monthly Tuesday night 
drill. Communications was tested between the EOC, Rock Hall Firehouse 
shelter, Millington Firehouse shelter, Chester River Hospital, and Kent 
County Health Dept, and a Back up Station in Delaware checked in.

Prince Georges County: ARES held a regular monthly meeting, and conducted a 
training day on Airmail operations and three bi-weekly nets to prepare for 
a DHS shelter drill on October 2.

Washington County: Washington County ARES is recruiting operators to 
support the Brierman Triathlon on October 12. This is a new event. The 
route crosses into Frederick County, complicating the event, and requiring 
the use of repeaters in both counties.
