Comments:

Allegany County: Allegany ARES assisted Garrett ARES with 4 operators in
joint mission to provide safety observation and communications for the
Savageman Triathlon. Also, Allegany ARES provided 9 operators for remote
terrain communications for the RAGNAR Relay event in eastern Allegany
County. Our thanks to AEC Jim KB3JRW for coordinating Allegany ARES and
Kasey KK3L for the use of his repeaters for our operators for both of these
events and for the patience and cooperation of other operators while we
used them.

Wicomico County: RACES/ARES was activated by Wicomico County on Friday,
August 26 and deactivated on Sunday, August 28. We also supported the Lower
Shore Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Maryland Department of
Social Services at the Shelter in the Wicomico Civic Center. Wicomico
RACES/ARES assisted Ocean City EOC with one operator. RACES/ARES was
activated on Thursday, September 29, to support the Extreme Makeover: Home
Edition TV show build and renovated a number of homes in Wicomico County.
We have found a 50 foot tower for the Lower Shore American Red Cross. We
plan to take the tower down by mid-July and relocate the tower to the Red
Cross building in Salisbury. Delmarva Emergency Net: Sundays at 6:30 PM
using 3.905 MHz - Primarily stations on the Virginia, Maryland, and
Delaware Eastern Shore. Net Control, Sussex County Emergency Coordinator,

September 19: At our monthly meeting, Lee, N3YWZ, the Asst. Associate
Director with the Prince George's County Department of Environmental
Resources Waste Management Division gave an extremely engaging history of
the Brown Station Rd Landfill which opened in March of 1968. At the
conclusion of his great presentation, EC Jim presented Lee with a
proclamation and certificate (suitable for framing) of an 'Official' PRGE
ARES Tactical Callsign. . ."The G-Man." September 23: Wanda, KA3AHI,
represented PRGE ARES at a special Prince George's County Health Care
Coalition meeting to review, prepare and provide recommendations for ARES
injects for the up coming 2011 Capital Shield Exercise scheduled for
October 19. PRGE ARES will provide the communications platform for sending
restock request form for medical supplies from two hospitals to the county
health department using Winlink 2000. Plans are in the works to have ANAR
