Folks;

If you haven't done so already, please check with your ARES members to
see who can be available on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I'm sure
that those of you in the projected path of Irene have already done
this, but for those of you in safer territories - your assistance may
be needed.

Please let me know by noon on Saturday how many people are available,
and how many would be able to travel to the Eastern counties if
necessary.

Below is the latest Hurricane update from ARRL HQ.
73; Steve, N3SB

Irene Information Page – We have set up a web page for Irene
information, www.arrl.org/irene . If there is specific information
from your Section that you would like to have included please email it
to Ken Bailey, K1FUG, k1fug at arrl.org

Hurricane Watch Net – Hurricane Watch Net will be active beginning
0630 EDT Saturday, 8/27, on two frequencies: 14.325 and 7.268 for
duration of the storm.

NVOAD – At this point no additional requests have come in from
national partners. I will be on a conference call with them this
afternoon, if any requests are made I will let you all know.

W1AW – We will have W1AW staffed this weekend starting at 7am Eastern
Time. If you need to contact ARRL HQ during the weekend via landline
please call W1AW at 860-594-0268 or 860-594-0337. W1AW will have HF,
Winlink, D-Star, and Echolink capabilities. The station also has an
Echolink conference bridge that is available as a resource.

Emergency HF Nets – Please continue to let us know when your HF
emergency nets are active and on what frequencies. We can publicize
this information to help avoid potential interference and let folks
know where to listen at. Please email net information to Ken Bailey,
K1FUG, k1fug at arrl.org

information if it changes.
