>WHAT:
>CARA and Howard County ARES have been asked by the Howard County
>Striders to provide communications support for their annual Metric
>Marathon & 5 K event.
>
>WHERE & WHEN:
>The event will be held on Sunday, November 14th and the course we've
>been asked to cover runs 26.3 kilometers (16.2 miles), starting by the
>pedestrian overpass on Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia, and
>finishing at the fountain at the Columbia Lakefront. Overall event hours
>will be from 7:00AM to around noon, but water stop and bicycle mobile
>operators will have later reporting times and earlier dismissal times
>depending on where they are assigned along the course.
>
>WHO:
>We need twelve hams to cover net control, organizer liaison, and the
>water stops. In addition, we would like to have two to three bicycle
>mobile operators on the course. We have 9 volunteers so far so we could
>use a couple more. A map of the course is attached.
>
>Please let me or Rich Firestone know if you can participate in this
>final event of the year. Let us know your t-shirt size and if you have a
>desire to operate as net control or bike mobile.
>
>Thanks.73
