Harford County together with Baltimore County will conduct an Emergency Communicator I class on March 6, 2010 from 0900 to 1300 hours.
The class will be held at one of two locations, the Baltimore Public Safety Building in Towson or the Harford County EOC in Forest Hill. The location is dependent on the number of registrants from each county in which the course is offered and will be announced via an e-mail to those registered as of March 4, 2010. These are secure facilities; therefore, a State or County issued ID will be required to gain access
This class is the first in a series of three courses offered twice a year. The material covered complements the ARRL classes on Emergency Communications. The class is recommended for use as the foundation of your Emergency Communication training.
The course covers the following topics via in depth discussion and interactive demonstrations, including multimedia:
· What is an Emergency Communicator?
· Roles of the Emergency Communicator
· Essential Knowledge, Elements, Skills & Abilities
· New Technologies available to the Emergency Communicator
· Protocol, Policy and Procedures
· Traffic Handling (formal and tactical)
