Comments:

Maryland-DC Section: Public Service -- March has brought a HUGE increase in
Training and Public Service hours! With the warmer weather finally here,
there will be plenty more activities that ARES will be supporting. Please
don't forget to complete a Public Service Activity Report (PSAR), a link to
which can be found on the Maryland-DC homepage at http://www.arrl-mdc-net.
Maryland State Convention -- The Maryland State Convention was both an
enjoyable and educational event. I had an opportunity to give an overview
of ARES in the MDC Section, and to give an introductory presentation on
Winlink. Section All-Digital Communications Test -- The Section All-Digital
Communications Test is Saturday April 24. This event is meant to be an
opportunity for digital beginners and experts, as well as ARES members, to
gain a little experience using digital modes in a directed net environment.
Local EC's will be scheduling one or more digital nets that day, and I'll
be sending out a couple "tasks" to be completed by the nets whenever they
meet. The EC's will then get the results of those tasks back to me at the
end of the day.

were held on the relocation and establishment of at GC ARES repeater site
in Garrett County. The Garrett County ARES net is held weekly on Sunday
evenings at 8:00 PM on the Outback Repeater System (primary repeaters
146.805 and 145.33 dup PL 123). All traffic is FM voice. Our monthly
meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00 PM.

District of Columbia: DCARES conducted a joint operation with other
metropolitan area ARES/RACES Groups to support the National Marathon on
March 20. Excellent operation, received many thanks from Event Officials
and DC HSEMA. Thanks to the VOA Radio Club and Arlington VA Amateur Radio
Club for the use of their Repeaters for the event. Covered all of downtown
DC well. Excellent operations support provided by: N2LJD, KC3VO, W3CUM,
KB3RRJ, W3TDH, W4ART, W0NQW, KC7MOC, KB3KKY, KB3BXT, and AD9O. Thanks to
