Those of who were on packet "back in the day" may remember what
"retries" were. Yesterday I stumbled upon an email newsletter that has
been published weekly for about a year and a half titled "Zero Retries".
It can be found at: https://zeroretries.substack.com/
The archive is available all the way back to the first issue of 09 Jul
2021. Some clicking links to avoid subscribing and scrolling are
necessary but they are all there to be enjoyed. New issues are sent out
to subscribers on Friday evenings. The latest I received focuses on the
possibility of an amateur radio transponder on a geostationary
satellite, perhaps a few years in the future, that would cover the
western hemisphere.
A lot of his interest is in digital operations on VHF/UHF and what is
being done to create new techniques to pick up where packet left off.
There is no fee to subscribe, just supply an email address and confirm
it if you like.
I am going through the archive of newsletter and it will take a while to
read them all!
The goal of the newsletter is to be a clearing house of sorts on new
technologies and techniques and to attract those interested in such to
become licensed radio amateurs. His is a laudable goal and why I am
helping to spread the word.
