You did good! With the present computers I have, a reboot is the first thing I have to do, fixes it every time…. Dennis

Subject: Re: [MCARC] 444.350 repeater update
For those who did not get on the net last night or were not able to log
in via AllStar or Echolink, there was no communication between the
repeater controller and the Raspberry Pi computer that does all of the
Internet linking stuff.
Well, it looks like Murphy got into the Raspberry Pi and hosed a few
things up! After sleeping on it I recall that the load average (a value
the Linux system computes for how busy the system is) was quite high,
around 1.17. Normally it runs about 0.17 or so, so something was stuck.
About a half hour ago I logged in and the load average was 2.40. Ouch!
Fortunately, I was still able to log in remotely and manage the system.
I decided to see if a reboot would clear things up and it did. I have
heard the AllStar and weather (AutoSky) announcements that are made when
the system starts. I have also tested both AllStar and Echolink from my
phone and both systems are working and passing audio both directions.
Whew!
The computer's up time was something over 392 days which was the last
time I rebooted it and that was when setting up Echolink last year.
That's really quite amazing for a computer with a physical footprint a
little larger than a credit card.
Thankfully it appears that nothing was knocked out of place and a trip
to the site will not be necessary. It is something I'll need to keep an
eye on, though.
