Good job Nate, that was a lot of PR that we need.  Dennis

Subject: [MCARC] 444.350 repeater

Well, nothing has changed and it is still perking along.

I got a call from Rick at Blue Valley Technologies a few minutes ago.

He was doing some routine site maintenance and was curious about the

repeater since we had not been in contact with each other for a bit over

two years.  I replied that it has been running well and doing us a great

service without issue.

He was pleasantly surprised to hear me say that, I guess, as he said

this past summer the tower took a lightning strike which damaged a lot

of their wireless equipment and took out some of the tower lighting.  He

said when he climbed the tower he found the winch cable wrapped tight

around the repeater antenna!  Apparently, the winds have not been kind.

Anyway, it is back in place and he said today it was flopping some so he

tightened the winch and it is tight now.  It sounds like this is

something that he'll keep an eye on.

Otherwise we had a good conversation regarding the ways the repeater has

given us great service over the past couple of years.  I also thanked

him for the opportunity to have the repeater on the tower and to pass

our thanks along to the folks in Home City.

73, Nate
