Subject: Estate equiment of Chuck - K0QLH -Hebron
To:

As many will recall, Chuck K0QLH was a regular check-in of the Nebraska Storm Net.  He recently died and his XYL Jan is selling his equipment.  She advertised it in the Penny Press circular.  She had a call from someone at Falls City who said he would take it all, but there was no mention of prices.    She thinks she got a spam call  from Kearney, when she called back the voice was different.

I told her to hold tight until we received comments back from friends of Chuck on what kind of money she should be expecting

For example, the first Kenwood 2 meter rig shown in the photos,  she was going to toss in the trash thinking it was his old CB because it was mounted on a wood board.  It was sitting on top of the trash can.  I told her to put that with the rest of the ham gear.

Chuck died about a month ago.  His XYL Jan has moved into a small duplex and I bet can use all the help she can get.  I was afraid someone might rip her off if she has no idea what this gear may be worth. He was a long time pharmacist and owned the Hebron Drug Store .  He told me once he felt sorry for many older people who could not afford their meds.  He said that is why I am not a rich man.  He was a giving person!   We need to look after his widow.

Jan's number is 402 768 2500.  She is a very interesting lady.  When Chuck met her, she was a Marine Corps nurse.  Please tell her if you call, you are calling from an ad Dave Messing of Nebraska City had initiated .

Chuck always had a great barefoot signal and great audio with the TS570D,  and matching Kenwood accessories,  and trap antenna.    From what I see with the Kenwood TS570D HF transceiver,   and its matching Kenwood pieces, the two 2 meter rigs, manuals, Hy-Gain 14AVQ and antennas, fair price should be worth $900, as the sought after TS-570 and its items are being advertised on QTH at $700.

Jan is a motivated seller.

Someone I trust gave me an appraisal:

My comments on a few pieces of Chuck's equipment:

Kenwood 570 D HF transceiver   400-500 with the manual.  I bought my last one from Dave Schulman for 400 with the original box but no manual

Kenwood SP 31 Filter Speaker.  100-125.  There is one on EBAY now for 92 and free shipping from Tenn.

Kenwood PS 33 Power Supply.  100-125.  This will deliver 20 amps with 25 percent duty cycle.   There are better supplies out there for just a little more                money

Kenwood AT 180 Ant. Tuner   125-200 if it hasn't been arced over and fully operational

     Turner Mic   25-50

Here is a listing of a TS-570 on QTH.com posted yesterday:
