Hello All:
I attended the 4 States QRP "Ozarkcon" a week ago in Branson. They had very good speakers and interesting subjects.  I found extremely interesting was by W8TEE (Jack Purdum) and AC8GY (Al Peter) who have collaborated in designing and build radio which they dub as the SDT (software designed transceiver) aka T41 plus QRP Transceiver, see picture below. Dave, Al is also interested in astronomy check his website  http://alpeter.zenfolio.com/f774826157. This is a very sophisticated radio 10-80 M CW, SSB radio with output around 20+ watts.  All of the buttons on the right (from the front view) are direct access to the settings so there is no drill down thru the menus like found on may smaller foot print radios. They wrote their own software for CW decode and has several enhancements. Check it out if you are curious. The best part is the 4STATESQRP is going to make a kit out of this radio (less than $200 is the goal), and all surface mount is going to be installed on the boards for you.
Some additional kits from 4STATESQRP is that they are working on a solid state version of the Paraset, and a new Bayou Jumper that fixes some problems with the first design or enhances features. Look for them in the future.

Our club meeting is next Thursday but I have not checked the WX to see if Lions Park would be a good place.
