Dear Senator Jerry, once again I have become aware of a agency (US Forest Service) that has plans to charge Amateur Radio operators a fee when operating in parks. Since the nature of our operations are never for fee's, and usually first to provide communication in disasters where a need to assist other agencies with their needs until theirs is recovered (ex. Greensburg Toronado, where I personally assisted with dispersing food to those people cleaning up the mess, for a week. ). If that need happened to be in a US Forest Park, we would be charged to assist. Amateur radio operators test various locations to see how their equipment operates, for what ever the purpose. Any government agency that desires to charge any fee for our use of Amateur Radios are against the services we provide. The FCC itself is one example, currently wanting us to start paying for our License we require to operate. There are those individuals that any fees, would be burden to their operation. I thank you for your kind consideration. Dennis (K0BYK)
