2023 is here and conditions on the shorter waves are very good.
Many clubs held dinners in December which was welcome since they
may not have the previous two years.
Roxann Kosmicki, KZ0IMO is Pilot Knobs Ham of the Year
and Randy Brooks, K0AWW received the annual Buffalo Chip award.
Contrary to what you are probably thinking it is a prestigious honor.
Jarbalo ARC club members along with others resurrected the star on
the roof of St John Hospital. They were up there working on the repeater
antenna. It is on the tower with the 444.800 repeater. Working thru the
hospital, Max K0MDP went up the tower cleaned the star and replaced
lights and Rick, NJ0P built a switch for the lighting ceremony. After
many years of darkness the decades old star was formally re-lit with a
long time hospital employee doing the honor.
