[MCARC] MS County ARES Net Change

I have been calling an ARES net for Marshall and Washington Counties (Zone 2A, I think) since 2007.  For several years now the net has been on 147.285 Simplex.

Now that Nate, NØNB has his 444.350+ repeater in operation again, I am going to start calling the net on that frequency.  The net is at 9pm local time on Sunday evenings.

I know that not everyone has 70cm capability but for the last year or two check-ins have been pretty much limited to NØNB, AKØA and myself.  The repeater offers a much better coverage, with many people being able to use an HT. The repeater also has AllStar capability which allows the repeater to be linked to Simplex nodes via the internet.  This will allow Ken Kopp, AKØA from Topeka to check into  the net.  There may be others as well.

I hope some of you will check in Sunday at 2100 CST.  You do not need to be an ARES particpant to check in.
